실험적인 만화 작가 OMSCIC COMICS(옴씩코믹스)와 함께하는 여름 주말 워크숍에서, 만화의 ‘칸’에 새로운 시각을 열어보세요! 본 워크숍은 그림을 담는 틀로서의 칸을 넘어, 칸 자체가 이야기의 흐름과 감각을 주도하는 적극적인 창작 요소로 작용할 수 있도록 안내합니다.

이번 프로그램은 도쿄와 온라인에서 진행된 Creasidence의 4컷 만화 워크숍 시리즈의 서울 첫 번째 에디션입니다.
(Creasidence 소개) 멘토 OMSCIC COMICS의 연구와 실험을 바탕으로 개발한 이 접근법은 만화를 새롭고 대담하게 바라볼 수 있는 창의적 공간을 열고자 시도합니다.

만화, 망가, 웹툰, 진(zine) 등 다양한 시각 예술 분야의 창작자를 대상으로 진행되며, 참가자들은 이틀 동안 두 개의 만화를 만듭니다: 하나는 오리지널 버전, 또 하나는 그 이야기의 리믹스 버전입니다. 이를 통해 구조가 어떻게 이야기를 바꾸는가를 직접 체험합니다.

이 워크숍에서 여러분은:
✔ 5가지 4컷 만화 템플릿을 탐색합니다
✔ 자신만의 4컷 만화를 만들고 리믹스합니다
✔ 리듬, 구조, 스토리텔링을 실험합니다
✔ 아이디어를 전시 형태로 발전시킵니다
✔ 결과물을 공동 제작한 진(zine)으로 출판합니다

@omscic_comics — 실험적 만화 작가이자 독립 출판인.
2025년 ‘시공간 만화’ 시리즈를 일본의 갤러리 Le Monde에서 전시했고,
2023년 만화책 ‘8 Balls’를 벨기에 출판사 La 5e Couche에서 출간하였습니다.

Join us for a summer weekend workshop with experimental comic artist OMSCIC COMICS and open a new perspective on the comic "panel"!

This workshop goes beyond seeing the panel as a passive container for drawings. It guides participants to see the panel itself as an active element that drives the flow and sensation of storytelling.

This is the first Seoul edition of Creasidence’s 4-panel comic workshop series, previously held in Tokyo and online. (Creasidence is a cross-cultural platform for artistic experimentation through residencies, workshops, and collaborative creation.) Developed from the research and experiments of mentor OMSCIC COMICS, this approach opens a creative space to view comics in bold and innovative ways.

The workshop is open to creators from various visual storytelling fields such as comics, manga, webtoons, and zines.Participants will create two comics over two days:one original version, and one remix of that story—experiencing firsthand how structure can reshape narrative.

In this workshop, you will:
✔ Explore 5 types of 4-panel comic templates
✔ Create and remix your own 4-panel comics
✔ Experiment with rhythm, structure, and storytelling
✔ Develop your ideas into exhibition-ready formats
✔ Publish the results in a collaboratively made zine

About the Mentor:
@omscic_comics — Experimental comic artist and independent publisher.In 2025, exhibited the “Space-Time Comics” series at Gallery Le Monde in Japan,and published the comic book 8 Balls with Belgian publisher La 5e Couche in 2023.

One week before the workshop: PDF guidebook sent to participants
Zine publication collecting participants’ works (both online & offline)
All levels welcome! (No drawing skills required. The workshop focuses on experimenting with the panel!)
