Creasidence PIPELINE Zine #1
¥2,200
The result of Creasidence’s most ambitious creative program to date, this zine is a unique collaborative artifact from the Pipeline Workshop — a two-part residency held in Tokyo from 29 May to 8 June, bringing together artists from around the world. Collectible Bundle limited to 100 pcs. available only at SOMSOC Gallery! Over the course of the program, participants designed original kaiju characters, developed comics around them, and turned their creations into playable board game prototypes — all guided by experienced mentors including legendary soft vinyl artist Kazumitsu Akamatsu-sensei. This zine is a collaborative creation by local artists — the result of constant experimentation and shared imagination. A celebration of kaiju culture, storytelling, and board game design, the release reflects what happens when creators come together across mediums. Every element in this release — from the comics to the rulebook, poster, and collectible cards — was crafted by hand at every step of production. More than a workshop output, it’s the product of a residency built to test new models of creative collaboration. Details: • A full-color 40 pgs. comic zine featuring manga and lorebook of kaijus created by the participants under the guidance of Akamatsu-sensei and mentors Loïc Locatelli, Nico Staro and Javier Fernandez. Cover by Loïc Locatelli. • A 40 pgs. board game rulebook with 4 playable game concepts, rules, and graphics created by the participants under the mentorship of a team led by Shane Canning, JP Bowes and Arnaud Tuduri of UNSEEN Studios. ¥16,000
Playing, Dancing, Fighting, and Conspiring with Panels Seoul, South Korea @spineseoul August 9–10 | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM | This Workshop is available both in Korean and English. Join us for a summer weekend workshop with experimental comic artist OMSCIC COMICS and open a new perspective on the comic "panel"! This workshop goes beyond seeing the panel as a passive container for drawings. It guides participants to see the panel itself as an active element that drives the flow and sensation of storytelling. This is the first Seoul edition of Creasidence’s 4-panel comic workshop series, previously held in Tokyo and online. (Creasidence is a cross-cultural platform for artistic experimentation through residencies, workshops, and collaborative creation.) Developed from the research and experiments of mentor OMSCIC COMICS, this approach opens a creative space to view comics in bold and innovative ways. The workshop is open to creators from various visual storytelling fields such as comics, manga, webtoons, and zines.Participants will create two comics over two days:one original version, and one remix of that story—experiencing firsthand how structure can reshape narrative. In this workshop, you will: ✔ Explore 5 types of 4-panel comic templates ✔ Create and remix your own 4-panel comics ✔ Experiment with rhythm, structure, and storytelling ✔ Develop your ideas into exhibition-ready formats ✔ Publish the results in a collaboratively made zine About the Mentor: @omscic_comics — Experimental comic artist and independent publisher. In 2025, exhibited the “Space-Time Comics” series at Gallery Le Monde in Japan, and published the comic book 8 Balls with Belgian publisher La 5e Couche in 2023.
